چکیده
Abstract Roots are the anchorage organs of plants, responsible for water and nutrient uptake, exhibiting high plasticity. Root architecture is driven by interactions biomolecules, including transcription factors hormones that crucial players regulating root Multiple factor families involved in development; some, such as ARFs LBDs, have been well characterized, whereas others remain less investigated. In this review, we synthesize current knowledge about involvement large family homeodomain-leucine zipper (HD-Zip) development. This divided into four subfamilies (I–IV), mainly according to structural features, additional motifs aside from HD-Zip, their size, gene structure, expression patterns. We explored analyzed public databases scientific literature regarding HD-Zip Arabidopsis other species. Most members expressed specific cell types several individuals each group assigned functions Notably, a proportion studied proteins part intricate regulation pathways primary lateral growth

متن کاملRole of Homeodomain Leucine Zipper (HD-Zip) IV Transcription Factors in Plant Development and Plant Protection from Deleterious Environmental Factors
Homeobox genes comprise an important group of genes that are responsible for regulation of developmental processes. These genes determine cell differentiation and cell fate in all eukaryotic organisms, starting from the early stages of embryo development. Homeodomain leucine zipper (HD-Zip) transcription factors are unique to the plant kingdom. Members of the HD-Zip IV subfamily have a complex ...
متن کاملEvolution of class III homeodomain-leucine zipper genes in streptophytes.
Land plants underwent tremendous evolutionary change following the divergence of the ancestral lineage from algal relatives. Several important developmental innovations appeared as the embryophyte clade diversified, leading to the appearance of new organs and tissue types. To understand how these changes came about, we need to identify the fundamental genetic developmental programs that are res...
متن کاملCharacterization of homeodomain-leucine zipper genes in the fern Ceratopteris richardii and the evolution of the homeodomain-leucine zipper gene family in vascular plants.
The homeodomain-leucine zipper (HD-Zip) genes encode transcription factors that are characterized by the presence of both a homeodomain and a leucine zipper motif. They belong to the homeobox gene superfamily and have been reported only from flowering plants. This article is the first report on the ferm HD-Zip genes (named Crhb1-Crhb11) isolated from the homosporous ferm Ceratopteris richardii....
متن کاملThe Leucine Zipper Domains of the Transcription Factors GCN4 and c-Jun Have Ribonuclease Activity
Basic-region leucine zipper (bZIP) proteins are one of the largest transcription factor families that regulate a wide range of cellular functions. Owing to the stability of their coiled coil structure leucine zipper (LZ) domains of bZIP factors are widely employed as dimerization motifs in protein engineering studies. In the course of one such study, the X-ray structure of the retro-version of ...
